So I've been reading a bit about raising vegan children lately and I had a strange thought, is breast milk vegan? Breast milk is an animal product, it's no different from cow's milk. Except for the fact that it is the natural food for human babies, and cow's milk is the natural food for cow babies, not human babies. Animals aren't meant to drink the milk of another species. Think of it this way, would you drink dog milk? Then why drink cow's milk?!
I guess that breast milk is vegan because, even though it comes from an animal, because it comes from our own species. However, using this thinking, does that mean that cannibalism is vegan?
Just a thought!
Little Vegan Life grew from a vegetarian food diary come vegan lifestyle blog called 'So Do You Just, Like, Eat Salad?'. Little Vegan Life explores the vegan lifestyle and my little vegan life, pondering issues big and small, and, most importantly, talking about delicious vegan food! (And 'So Do You Just, Like, Eat Salad?' fans don't despair, all of those posts are in the little vegan archives).
